airBaltic Receives Second Bombardier CS300

airBaltic has received its second Bombardier CS300 airplane. The airline currently is the sole carrier operating the biggest Bombardier aircraft.

CSeries as Boeing replacement

The second CS300 departed Montreal on the last day of 2016 to arrive in Riga one day later. The CS300 in operation with airBaltic are equipped 145 seats, the same number of seats as the Boeing 737-300 it is replacing.

By 2020 the CSeries aircraft should replace the 11 remaining Boeing aircraft in the fleet of the Baltic carrier. The Boeing 737-300 and Boeing 737-500 are less efficient compared to the brand new CSeries aircraft and with average ages of 19.9 years and 18.3 years should be replaced soon.

With the addition of the CSeries aircraft to the fleet, airBaltic is able to  expand its network to the east.
