CEO Dennis Muilenberg of The Boeing Company has appointed Kevin McAllister as the new CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Focus on services at Boeing
Ray Conner who has been CEO of Boeing’s Commercial Airplanes department since 2012 has stepped down with immediate effect, but will serve as Vice President at The Boeing Company until the end of 2017. The news follows just a month after Ihssane Mounir was appointed as vice-president of sales and marketing succeeding John Wojick. In that regard the replacement of the BCA CEO is not striking, were it not that Boeing had offered him 50,000 shares last year in order not to leave Boeing early.
The decision to appoint McAllister with immediate effects has likely to do with Boeing signing Conner’s successor and putting him on the job as soon as possible.
Kevin McAllister joins Boeing from General Electric where he is president and chief executive officer of GE Aviation Services.
The US jet maker has also appointed Stanley Deal as the CEO of Boeing Global Services, a new business unit to be formed from the customer services groups within the company’s existing commercial airplanes and defense, space and security business units.
The appointment of both executives should help bolster Boeing’s business in the coming years with an increased focus on after-sale support and service.
