Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has reported its Traffic & Transport report for May 2016. In May the Dutch mainport saw a traffic flow of 5.75 million passengers, a 6.7% increase versus May 2015. Freight transport for the month was 134.6 metric kilotons, compared to 137.7 kilotons in 2015.

Year-to-date the number of passengers that traveled via Amsterdam Airport grew by 10.5%, higher than the reported growth in May. For the full year AeroAnalysis expects Schiphol Airport to achieve passenger traffic of 61.5 million and 65 million.
Year-to-date freight carried to and from Amsterdam Airport grew by 1.4%, compared to the 2% drop in May. For the full year AeroAnalysis expects freight carried to and from Amsterdam Schiphol to be under pressure due to shrinking cargo activities of Martinair Cargo.
The number of flights in May grew by 5.7% year-over-year to 134566. Year-to-date the number of flights grew by 5.9%. This means that the planes departing and arriving on Amsterdam were either slightly bigger or had a better load factor (or a combination of both).
